Tapping into the Steady Rhythm of Life

Rush, rush, rush, rush, rush.  That seems to be the theme these days. Life feels like a giant race most of the time as we all gallop around at full speed on our horses, often seemingly out of control and overwhelmed, about to crash at any moment, but somehow – somehow we manage to stay on.  We manage to keep … Continue Reading

You Can Do Hard Things

I’m sitting on my little green couch, as I do every morning, having my coffee, and feeling an overwhelming sense of gratitude. An overwhelming sense of gratitude for the life that I have, for every breath that I take, and for being able to have this experience of growth. This post is part reflection, part practical update on Japan. It’s … Continue Reading

What I learned from taking off my headphones

Life can be hard. It can be confusing and distracting and it’s easy to only see the negative. It’s easy to try to drown out everything around us in order to ease the pain, to make the things we don’t like seem a little easier. The other day when I was running I was hit smack in the head with … Continue Reading

Is it really worth it?

“Is it really worth it?”   This thought has popped into my mind on many occasions and in many circumstances over the years, and especially as of late. I’ve been thinking about this because things aren’t always easy. And when they aren’t easy, I think many of us start to ask – Is it all really worth it? Maybe you’re … Continue Reading

How to stop taking yourself so dang seriously! – Four of the biggest takeaways after living 30 years on this earth

I love birthdays and I love my birthday. I know it sounds self-centered but I really do. Why? It’s a beautiful day where you get to celebrate yourself – I mean, wow! You get to celebrate yourself! Your wonderful, beautiful, fantastic self! Is there anything better than that?! Seriously, though, have you ever thought about how amazing and special you … Continue Reading

Gratitude, Focus, and Finding the Balance in Life

I’ve literally never seen any artwork quite like my friend’s, Barry Costa. I’ve never encountered an artwork that is more than art –

an artwork that actually, truly changed my life like his (I’m serious here).

(Here’s a cool video to get an idea of what the artwork feels like in real life)

Somehow, he has managed to combine powerful life lessons and emotions, things that we all strive for like having more gratitude, harmony, and balance in our lives, into his graphic artwork. His artwork has been described by some as (and I have to agree!)

“Medicine for the eyes”

It kind of feels like I have an ally with me all the time when his artwork is hanging in my house – and it’s a constant reminder to focus on what I want and my goals, on being grateful instead of on what I don’t have. It’s a constant reminder that I CAN do this.

It’s a constant reminder that we are all loved.

Each artwork has a different energy behind it, which is pretty cool – this way you can pick an artwork that fits your goals or something that you’re trying to embody.

I’ve felt sort of guilty for knowing about his artwork and knowing it had such a positive effect on my life, but not having a way to share it properly.

I’m happy and proud to say that he has now launched his new website where all of his artworks are displayed and you can also grab one for yourself.

I can’t say enough about his artwork and his work in general –

one of the most dedicated, inspirational, and loving people I’ve ever met, he deserves a huge shout out.

A huge shout out because he’s dedicated. A huge shout out because supporting local artists is awesome. A huge shout out because I don’t think I’ve ever met someone who selflessly helps so many around him.

So today I want to share this gift with you, too. Head on over to his website HERE to check out his artwork.

Also, side note, if you’re in need of a website, he does an awfully good job at that, too 🙂

Congrats, Barry, you truly are inspirational.

When Your Joys Become a Chore

I’m laying on my yoga mat, unable to get myself to do any poses, only able to concentrate on how tired my body is and how much pain my thumb is in. I managed to injure my thumb to the point where I may have tendonitis or severely strained the muscle – and probably because I’ve pushed myself a little … Continue Reading

#1 Way to Get Happy FAST

OK, I’m careful about what I promise these days – but I assure you, this is basically the #1 way to get happy real fast and for REAL. And that way is GRATITUDE. Gratitude. I’ve written about it before. Once, or twice, or thrice. I’m not sure how many times but it’s something that I continually come back to because … Continue Reading
